Message have no problems handling what it is they do and it can handle much more, especially when you eliminate the unnecessary circuit control code for things like PRVR, AIV and EGR. Those three control functions relieve the processor of about 10% of its workload. That extra processing power can be used for things like triggering (for NOS, AM, whatever) or something like boost control.

Your samples/second mark is off as well. The stock Z ECU uses variable sampling rates for specific components. The stock ECU has a resolution of about 1/5RPM (50/256). It sees the engine in every degree of rotation. If it were unable to do this, it would not be adequate to handle the task of running an engine. I think you guys are getting swept away in some of the technical aspects that these manufacturers are throwing at you. Sure their processors are faster, they are also more modern. Try getting Hitachi to sell you a 6303 processor. They used the processor they did simply because it is available and more modern. Is it necessary? Nah. Its nice that they have all those functions available in their setups, but the Zemulator will enable your stock ECU to do the same thing.
